Summary:

If you're looking for a reliable and durable do-it-all glove then the Endura Hummvee Plus Glove could well be exactly what you're looking for. What's more, at £25 you'll be hard pressed to find gloves with this many features!

Gloves are kind of a necessity when riding mountain bikes and finding the best pair for you can be really tricky. You want them to be warm, but not clammy, you want padding without compromising grip, you want them to look awesome without spending a fortune on them.

The Endura Hummvee Plus glove may just tick every box listed above and a little bit more. To say this glove is feature heavy is a bit of an underestimate.

They’re made from several different materials, ensuring that every area of your hand offers the best performance possible. On the back of the glove you’ll find 4 way stretch, breathable mesh – which is also included between the fingers for maximum ventilation – the palm is made from synthetic leather with gel padding for extra comfort, while the silicone finger and palm prints offer a reliable grip.

After more than 200km of testing, rain, mud, sunshine and a washing machine here is my full review of this glove.

I was massively impressed with the sweat wipe, which is on both gloves and takes up the full index finger and thumb – great for runny noses on cold days! Additionally, you’ll be able to use all your touch screen devices thanks to the touch screen compatible index finger – yes a MTB glove you can use your phone with! Phenomenal!

The fit is great, a medium was spot on for my hands with no movement or excess material causing my hands to slide or slip on the grips. It’s almost silly how grippy these are, you can actually hear them sticking to the grips – ideal if you’re someone who typically loses grip.

During my time riding with these, I’ve done plenty of DH and some all day XC and I’ve found them incredibly comfortable. The only thing I’ve found that lets them down is the wrist cuff, velcro strap thing as I found it came loose at points on some rides which meant it flapped around – although the plus side is the glove was still secure on my mitts.

Overall Opinion on the Endura Hummvee Plus Gloves

For the price point – typically around £25 from Wheelies.co.uk you really can’t go wrong with this glove. It appears to be very durable, it’s been through the wash several times without being ruined – normally the place my gloves go to die – and it is extremely comfortable and grippy.

I can’t say how well they’ll be in a proper downpour, as I’ve only used them once when it was raining and that was only for a very short period of time. However, based on how these feel compared to many other gloves I’ve tried, I’m willing to gamble that they’ll be alright with only a minor loss of grip – which is to be expected when things get wet!

These are available in three colours, Black, Red and Green in sizes ranging from XS to XXL, which means that these should fit pretty much everyone and may even do so while matching your bike’s colour scheme (we all do it!).

From my experience with these, I’d definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a do-it-all glove that offers outstanding comfort, grip and is packed full of features – something I never thought I’d write about a glove.
